What Is Psychological Stress And How to Stop It?

What is Psychological Stress?

Based on the observation of the mind, stress happens when a thought pattern keeps repeating itself over and over again while another thought pattern wants to stop the movement of the previous thought pattern. So the two are in conflict and it causes stress. It’s a state of mind when there are conflicting in movement of thoughts in different direction for over a period of time. When this conflicting energy continues over a longer period of time, it becomes a depression.

For example, you are going through an issue dealing with an accident you had last week. The issue has been in your mind for the last 7 days and you want the problem to end but you still have to deal with it for at least a few more weeks. So you become stress about the issue while you are dealing with other issues in your life such as taking care of your partner, children, and work.

How to Deal with Stress?

As noted above, stressful feeling happens when conflicting thoughts are moving in different directions over a period of time.

To dissolve the stressful feeling, the conflict thoughts must stop. Once thoughts are no longer conflicting, then stressful feeling cannot happen.

So how to stop conflicting thoughts?

Well if we accept the fact that something happens and have to be dealt with, then we deal with it without trying to get rid of it or wishing it had not happened, then there is no conflicting thought. As a result of that there is no conflicting energy and no feeling of stress. Stress disappeared! because conflicting thoughts or overwhelming thoughts are no long exist.
